19.05.2003 - In 1992, a customer in Norway placed an order with MAN Turbo for a high-pressure compressor for use on an oil production platform. The compressor was supplied fully assembled on the base frame complete with motor, gear unit and oil systems. Testing on the test stand and spare parts also formed part of the order. The compressor was commissioned in 1993.

Surplus gas is injected into the production field, thus stabilizing its pressure for further oil extraction. High-pressure compressors used for gas injection exhibit a high degree of machine impermeability, low internal leakage levels and reliability at high pressures.
